If you wish to insert a proper copyright symbol in the footer credits then follow this:

Instead of using "(c)" use this "©" and the symbol will appear.If you wanted to italicise any portion of the text you would place "<i>" at the beginning of the text and "</i>" at the end of it.
For example <i>this text would be italicised</i>
